A 5 to 11 lb lamp covers a typical bedroom or office (up to 12 by 12 ft). 15 to 30 lb lamps suit living rooms (up to 20 by 20 ft). For commercial spaces and large open rooms, choose 40 lbs or larger. Bigger lamps emit more warm amber light.
Keep it dry — salt is hygroscopic and will sweat in humid climates. Leave the lamp turned on for several hours a day so the gentle heat evaporates absorbed moisture. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth; never submerge in water.
Standard lamps ship with a 15W or 25W incandescent E12 (candelabra) bulb that produces the gentle heat needed to keep the salt dry. Replacement cords and bulbs are available on our site.
